As makeup artists we are tasked with creating the perfect look for each and every occasion. And when it comes to creating a memorable ending to Alibi Michael Kitchen’s stunning debut feature, we knew we had to put a lot of hard work into creating the makeup for the final scene.
We wanted to create something that would give the audience an impactful and emotional ending, while still staying true to the original story. To do this we had to find the perfect combination of beauty and edginess in the makeup and hairstyling, to help enhance the characters’ final moments onscreen.
To do this we focused on creating a soft and natural look for the characters, to make sure that they still looked beautiful and strong while the emotions of the scene radiated through their faces. We used minimal foundation on the skin, and chose to go for a natural shadowing on the eyes to make them sparkle and pop in contrast to the more emotive facial expressions. We chose to use a softer hairstyle to keep the attention on the faces instead of detracting from it.
Overall, we worked hard to ensure that the makeup and styling for Alibi Michael Kitchen’s stunning finale was subtle and beautiful, and we think we did a great job! We think it really worked to give the scenes that extra bit of emotion to make it that much more memorable.
